Black Currant is also known as Cassis. It is both a propagated and wild grown berry which some claim originated in France. Cassis is a very popular beverage throughout Europe, known for being aromatic in smell and in taste. This particular aspect of Black Currant is very evident on this tea.

Black Currant gained notoriety in 1712 for its beneficial properties, which were published by the Abbot Bailly inferring that Black Currant was indeed an aphrodisiac and should be consumed with great care. On a hot summer day Black Currant quenches one’s thirst very well.
Lizanne's Black Currant derives its name from one of our first customers. A long time family friend, we sent Lizanne a few samples of different teas when we started our tea company back in November 2009. She instantly fell in love with Black Currant, telling us on Kungaloosh's Facebook page it was like "dessert in a cup".
Lizanne then proceeded to tell all of her Facebook friends and others on a website for work-from-home mommies. She told a few friends, whom told a few friends, and so on! Within two weeks we had tracked nearly 300 orders back to Lizanne and her circle of friends. She single handedly gave our little company the jump start it needed through the power of word-of-mouth.
How could we not show her our appreciation? Forever forward her favorite flavor will be known as Lizanne's Black Currant.
