Our Vanilla Cinnamon tea line began with an accident! The tea supplier that creates our Vanilla Cream tea also creates a Vanilla Cinnamon and they sent us one kilo of the wrong flavor.
We decided rather than put it on a jet back to Sri Lanka, we would offer it to our newsletter subscribers at a discount. We sold out in about a day, and people kept asking to reorder. Vanilla Cinnamon is now here to stay!

Vanilla and Cinnamon comprise what may be one of our most exotic and ancient blends. The story of Cinnamon began in ancient Egypt where it was prized for its sweet aroma. The Egyptians used it to purify the tombs of the Pharaohs and believed it to be a valuable commodity in the spirit world.
Vanilla, too, has an ancient history. Native to Central America, the spice is believed to have been first used by the Aztecs as an additive to chocolate as far back as 200 b.c.
Celebrate this venerable history by brewing a pot of this magnificent tea. Taste how the sweet scent of cinnamon pairs beautifully with the vanilla. Enjoy it on its own or enhance the flavor with a dash of sugar - a magnificent tea that would make both the Aztecs and ancient Egyptians envious.
Use a dash of sugar or Vanilla Cinnamon also takes milk well.
If you enjoy our Monk's Blend tea or Karma Kream Chai, you will likely love this flavor.
Vanilla Cinnamon tea also makes a fabulous iced tea. Place 6 teaspoons of tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. [A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water]. Please note that this tea may tend to go cloudy or ‘milky’ when poured over ice; a perfectly normal characteristic of some high quality black teas and nothing to worry about!

The Perfect Cup of Vanilla and Cinnamon Loose Leaf Tea
Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 teaspoon of tea for each cup into the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 3-7 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the tea). Even though milk and a dash of sugar help enhance the flavor character on this tea, it is perfectly acceptable to consume this tea ‘straight-up’
